Next week (August 17th through 24th), we’re going to have a Back 2 School Sew-a-long (SAL) featuring the oh, so cute Katelyn Jumper!!  Katelyn has a loose-fitting bodice that layers perfectly with our Rose Ruffle Top.  You can use any light to medium weight wovens: quilters cotton, chambray, corduroy, twill, poplin, light weight denim.  Its a great pattern to showcase your favorite buttons too!

During the sew-a-long, we’ll be adding top and tunic lengths.  Both look great with the new Olivia bloomers & pantaloons.  We’ll also be adding inseam pockets during the SAL.  Want to change up your straps so they button in the back?  We can show you how to do that too!!!

Katelyn Jumper with Rose Ruffle Top

So here’s how the Sew-a-long Schedule looks… every day we’ll sew a step or a few steps of the jumper.  By the end of the week, you will have a finished Katelyn Jumper for your little one to wear to school!  Each day, you can post your progress pictures in our SAL albums on the Made for Mermaids Patterns Group page on Facebook for support, help, virtual high-fives, etc! 😉  (I will upload the albums Sunday night.)

Now for the REALLY fun part… The PRIZES!!  We will have 3 prize categories.  Shout out to our awesome friends at Patterns for Pirates, Cole’s Creations and Bethany Lane!  Bethany Lane has decided to give each winner a “Cute as a Button” set (10 buttons per set)!!! How awesome is that?!?!  We love love LOVE Bethany Lane buttons!! 🙂

Teacher’s Pet-  This is the BIG award!  It will be chosen by the M4M team aka #teammegan :).  It will be our favorite Katelyn Jumper!  The Teacher’s Pet will win:

*1 pattern of choice from Cole’s Creations

The Homecoming Queen- This will be the person who has the most “Likes” in the finished picture album aka the “Yearbook”.  Anyone in the M4M Patterns Group page can vote by “liking” your finished Katelyn.  **If the person with most “likes” is chosen as the Teacher’s Pet, the person with the second most “likes” will be crowned the Homecoming Queen.**  The Homecoming Queen will win:

Random Winner- This winner will be randomly chosen from the “Yearbook” and the final Instagram pictures combined.  The Random Winner will receive:

You may have seen that on our SAL schedule, Saturday is a catch up day or Extra Credit Assignment.  If you have time, we’d love to see your Katelyn’s sewn up with Rose Ruffle Tops or Olivia Bloomers/Pantaloons!!
