Day 6:
We are wrapping up our Bryce Sew-a-long today! I hope you were able to make something you love this week. The crop I made is EXTREMELY far from my usual comfort zone, which is one of the things I like about doing sew-a-longs! I paired it with distressed black jeans and a black blazer, and I’m planning to bring it on a trip to NOLA with me later this month. Where are you taking your Bryce???
If you’re sewing a crop, you don’t have any new steps today! If you’re sewing a skirted version, we’ll add our waistbands and skirts today to finish up.
Bryce includes a half circle skirt, but you can always mash with another pattern to use a full circle skirt, or even a gathered skirt if that fits your preference. I’m going to try mine on without clear elastic in the waist seam, but I suspect I will want to go back and add it just for additional support.
Don’t forget:
- Make sure you are taking an accurate and consistent seam allowance; seam allowance is already included on all pattern pieces. For Bryce, seam allowance is 3/8″ unless otherwise indicated.
- Be sure to use a stretch stitch for all of your construction, with the exception of basting stitches.
Want to sew along with me? Check out today’s video!
If you have questions about adding your waistband or skirt, you are always welcome to post in our SAL group so we can help you! Be sure that you’ve checked in each day during the SAL, and commented on each daily post to enter our giveaways. We’ve loved seeing your projects this week!
