EXCITING news!!! I am so happy to welcome a long time tester to my team, Megan Thoman! I KNOW you have seen her and her adorable kiddos around facebook groups, over on her blog, The Northern Belle and here on my site. (She does have a son too, surprisingly not modeling any Made for Mermaids 😉 ) Megan will be assisting me behind the scenes with patterns, plus on my facebook page, group and here on the blog! Megan posted a photo of her daughter in my Elsa dress pattern on my facebook page one day and I quickly asked her to become a tester. My sisters also fell in love with her! She became a ‘go-to’ tester for all of us, because she always takes her time and has great attention to detail. I have so enjoyed getting to know Megan, seeing her daughter’s and son grow along with mine. When I knew it was time and I NEEDED help keeping up, she was the first person I thought of! Here is a little more about her below….
Hello Made for Mermaids Fans! There are some pattern designers you just click with. Megan from Made for Mermaids is one of them, for me! Maybe its because we are both named “Megan.” Maybe its because our daughters are the same age and share the same name as well. 🙂 I have sewed just about every M4M pattern and have loved every single one of them. I am thrilled to join the Made for Mermaids Team and to assist wherever I can! I’m Megan Thoman and here’s a little bit about me…
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. I’m a former cheerleader and baton twirler. I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Advertising/Public Relations. Most of my free time in college was spent twirling with the PSU Majorettes, and that experience remains a highlight of my life and a huge part of who I am!
I married my high school sweetheart in 2005 and we’ve lived all over the east coast thanks to his time in the Army. During this time I worked for a credit union, as a Marketing assistant, designing ads and hosting promotional events.
Then came the babies. 🙂 I have been so fortunate to stay at home and take care of our three kiddos. **I wish I had a decent picture of all three of them to share… but they are impossible to photograph together at this time… haha**
I’ve always loved painting, drawing, and crafting. My love for sewing started after having my first daughter. About 4 years ago, my cousin taught me how to thread a sewing machine, and I have figured the rest out on my own, with the help of Youtube videos, online tutorials and Megan and her sisters’ PDF patterns! Over the last year, I have participated in many pattern tests and it has fueled my passion about sewing for my kids, and even myself. It is a creative outlet that I desperately need and its been so much fun to plan out photoshoots, dress up my babies, and take their pictures!
When I’m not sewing, I’m usually spending time with my family. My favorite simple pleasures are coke slushies, Target & Starbucks, sweet tea, college football, my pearl earrings, and of course FABRIC! I look forward to lots of Made for Mermaids sewing! Thanks so much for believing in me, Megan! 😉
So now you have a team of Megan’s working hard for you over here at Made for Mermaids! We are taking over 😉 Come on over to the group and congratulate Megan Thoman!!
