Day 4 already?!? This week is just flying by! Today’s focus is side seams, and arm bands if you opted for one of the tank versions. I know that bands can trip people up sometimes, but I promise if you clip accurately and take your time, it won’t be TOO painful! If you’re struggling to get your bands to look nice, I HIGHLY recommend basting them on first, so you can check your seam allowance accuracy as well as your quartering. Basting stitches are much, much easier to remove than other stitches 😉
Don’t forget:
- If you’re using custom cotton spandex or another fabric with very strong recovery, it is VERY VERY likely that you will need to add some length to your bands. Basting first is a great way to check this.
- Quarter your bands equally; remember that the shoulder seam is not a quarter point.
- Seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise indicated

If you have questions about attaching your bands or stitching up your side seams, you are always welcome to post in our SAL group so we can help you! Be sure to check in each day during the SAL, and look for daily posts to enter our giveaways. We can’t wait to see what you create this week!
