This is a QUICK and easy modification you can make to your Rose Ruffle for a sweet flutter sleeve top! My daughter has really been enjoying these shirts for school, you can see one here paired with her kitty skirt. You will need the Rose Ruffle Top pattern and the Sophie Add-On Pattern.
The Sophie Add-On pattern has several sleeve pieces, we will be using the flutter sleeve piece. There are two cut lines of the pattern piece. I used the serged rolled hem cut line. For a double flutter, you could cut two flutters at the machine cut line and two at the serged cut line and layer them…. cute cute cute!
Run 2 gathering stitches, one at 1/4″ and one at 5/8″. Don’t immediately pull the bobbin threads to gather. First match the center notch to the shoulder seam.
Then match one flutter edge to the front armscye. Then the other flutter end to the back.
Next pull the bobbin threads and gather flutter to fit.
Stitch in place, pull gathering stitch at 5/8″ and finish per tutorial! TADA sooo quick and easy!! I paired the top with the new Bonny Leggings coming TOMORROW! This pair is the ankle length with circle skirt add on! The other, sorry just a cell photo, but it is paired with the boy shorts and circle skirt! Too cute right??? Don’t forget to join my facebook group for the COUPON CODE for tomorrow’s release!
