We’re adding two new essential patterns to the shop this week- Ava and Mama Ava. Ava is the perfect everyday knit top and tunic (like always) packed full of options! LIMITED TIME BUNDLE HERE.
First, let me tell you I was working on another pattern (still coming later 😉 ) when one day running errands I grabbed a tee at Target. I LOVED the top, I wanted to wear it everyday that week. I started to pull out my other favorite store bought tees and realized they all had the same cut. I stopped immediately, drafted the pattern and made myself 12 over a few days… no joke! For me, this is the perfect every day top. It’s a relaxed fit and straight through the body. It doesn’t take much fabric or time, so you could quickly make one before running out the door. You can use any 2 way light to medium weight knit with a nice drape. My favorite were brushed poly, jersey, rayon french terry and rayon blends.
Of course after making myself too many tops 😉 I decided to also draft the girls’ version. My daughter’s closet is FULL of dresses, but she’s always lacking basic tops to wear every day. The girls Ava is semi fitted at the chest and relaxed through the body. Both patterns off all the same options.
You can choose from a v-neck or scoop neck. The Mama is not too low, but you also won’t be pulling your shirt down all day, because you feel like you’re chocking… I KNOW I’m not alone here 😉
You can choose top length.
Straight tunic length. Which I love to style tied- the relax fit makes it perfect to tie up, since it won’t hug any beautiful back curves we might have 😉
The last hemline is the one my Target tee had, it’s a curved tunic, but the back is longer than the front. It makes it perfect to wear with leggings or skinny jeans.
It also includes 3 sleeve lengths, so you can get wear all year long! Short, mid-length and long sleeves.
So if you want to know what I wear daily, this is it 😉 I made my perfect tee! I hope you (and your daughter) love and get just as much use from this pattern as we do at our house! You can grab the girls Ava here or women Ava here, both on sale $7 each or grab the LIMITED TIME BUNDLE– only offered now at release- both patterns for $10!! Sale ends Sunday 9/11 midnight cst.
As much as I enjoy sewing for my littles, it just recently occurred to me to be a little selfish and see something for myself! I am just so excited I have found your site! I can not wait to buy some patterns and fabric for me!
xxo
I’m excited to try this pattern out! I just got a big order in from KnitPop with fabric that is just PERFECT for it! Thanks for your beautiful and inspiring patterns!
I bought the bundle and can’t wait to make mommy and me shirts!! I love this pattern!
I recently had shoulder surgery (rotator cuff repair) and will be wearing a sling with an abductor pillow for 6-8 weeks. It is difficult to dress myself with limited movement allowed in my operative shoulder. I plan to modify this pattern a bit with soft velcro for closing the shoulder seam of the operative side to allow easier dressing. I am thinking of starting a line of adaptive clothing for post-surgical patients and those with mobility/dressing issues such as stroke, arthritis, etc. This pattern will be great! And of course, also will be a favorite for my 5 (I will be six in a month!) granddaughter:) Thanks!
