Charlotte paired with Zoey + Zeke Overalls are going to be my girl’s new uniform go-to! She was especially excited about the overalls, and the POCKETS on the overalls.
I love all of the little details between both patterns. The sleeves are my favorite part of Charlotte. You can always leave the collar off for a more casual look, but I opted to add it since her school requires collared shirts.
I used a solid organic cotton spandex knit jersey from Wolf and Rabbit Fabrics for Charlotte; it was the perfect pink! For the Zoey + Zeke Overalls, I used a faux denim cotton spandex. I’ve had it in my stash for a while so I’m not sure where I got it.
For options, I decided on a ruffle strap, buttons, and long shorts. She probably would have preferred the shorter length, but I went with the longer inseam for school. They’re still a tad long overall since she is on the low end of 7 length, but she’ll be able to wear them most of the school year. 🙂
I wanted the look of a drawstring, but didn’t need it to be functional, so I just stitched it on as a faux drawstring. I used a scrap of gray fabric for a bit of contrast. She loves this pair so, so much and has already requested more. I think I’ll sew up a couple in the dress option too!
Have you made either Charlotte or Zoey + Zeke yet? Zoey + Zeke especially can seem overwhelming if you’re just getting started, but the tutorial is very detailed. Let us know if you’re sewing up either of these patterns for school this year!
