Happy 4th of July, friends!!! I must say, 4th of July is my favorite holiday. I love fireworks, family time, picnics, outdoor lawn games, cookouts, stars & stripes, and of course RED-WHITE-AND BLUE! I dress in my patriotic clothes all week and now that I have three little kiddos, I do the same for them! We love celebrating the good ole US of A!
I was in the mall a few months ago and found the cutest girl’s shirt with “All-American Mermaid” written on it. I fell in love with the concept and thought, “How perfect would this be for our Made for Mermaids friends!” So…… I designed a fun graphic for you to use with your Silhouette machines so you can make your own Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) shirts and products! 🙂
The design is made for an adult shirt using a 12 x 12 cutting mat. So you will need to resize it for your child. For example: On my daughter’s size 5 Talor Tank, I sized it so it was approximately 7″ wide x 5.5″ tall. Download your FREE Silhouette file here!!
About our outfits….
My daughter is wearing a Talor Tank. I tied it up to the side using a hair tie to secure it because we are all loving the tied up look right now! She is wearing a M4M Knit Headband in Child size in her hair.
I left the starfish off of her design because weeding all the vinyl out of that tiny starfish was driving me crazy! I really love how it turned out without it though. 🙂
Here’s a close up of the adorable Knit Headband pattern. It comes in 4 sizes, Baby through Adult. It’s totally reversible and a super easy, quick sew!
On to my outfit…
My top is the Essential Tank from Megan G.’s sister, Patterns for Pirates. I love this tank top style so much. It’s the perfect fit- form fitting, but not too tight!
Were you checking out my mermaid necklace?! This adorable design is from Thread & Grain. It’s a wooden, laser-cut charm on a 24″ chain. Check it out along with all the other incredible designs and fashions from our friend, Katy at Thread & Grain.
I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July. Make sure you share your “All-American Mermaid” creations with us in the Made for Mermaids Patterns Group page on Facebook. We love to see what you make!
