I’ve seen several requests for a Naomi romper and while we do have more rompers coming soon to our Resort Collection, I thought I would show a simple hack too!
I LOVE the Sierra romper, it’s one of my favorites. The culotte romper is super flattering and cool to wear in the summer. I simply added the Sierra waistband and romper bottoms to the Naomi top for this fun, backless romper!
You’ll need the Sierra pattern and Naomi pattern for this hack. The Youth Sierra and Youth Naomi will work with this hack too!
Cut your Naomi bodice pieces and Sierra romper pieces, plus the Sierra waistbands. You won’t need the markings on the Sierra waistband, so don’t worry about those.
I decided to add some stretch lace to my Naomi bodice. I simply pinned it on the main bodice and stitched prior to sewing up.
Construct your Naomi bodice per the tutorial.
Construct your Sierra romper bottoms per tutorial.
Gather your Naomi bodice to the measurement in the tutorial on page 12 (youth Naomi bodice is not gathered). Stitch your waistband and lining waistband in a loop per Sierra tutorial. Then quarter the waistbands.
You will treat the Naomi bodice like the open back bodice in the Sierra tutorial. Stitch the waistband to the Naomi bodice with a 1/4″ seam allowance.
Then simply attach the romper bottom per the Sierra tutorial and you’re done!!
I can’t wait to make more of these fun rompers for summer and my daughter has already requested one too! If you make one, make sure to share in our Facebook group or on Instagram. I LOVE seeing all your creations!! #madeformermaids #naomipattern #sierrapattern
