I haven’t made this*, but if you have cats this would be a GREAT pattern because of how Mason jars work. You can take the pincushion piece, flip it over so that it goes INSIDE the jar, and use the band to close it up again. Now your pins are INSIDE the jar, and you can leave it sitting out on your sewing table without worrying about your cat pulling the pins out and eating them when you aren’t looking, and you don’t need to hide your pincushion away after use every time. Just remember to flip the cushion around after use.
*I made something similar that I thought up myself last year because I have one cat that likes to pull pins out and fling them about the room. I made mine by covering the lid like they did here, but without the stuffing, and then gluing one of those pre-made tomato pincushions onto the lid.
