Today’s our last sewing day of the Siena sew-a-long! Not a tough day, especially if you’re opting out of the faux drawstring 🙂
My daughter decided she wanted to use a rope drawstring, not a fabric one, so I scratched the fabric piece I had planned to use. The attachment will be generally the same, not matter what you use!
Don’t forget:
- I used a stretch stitch to attach mine, since I was also sewing over the elastic on the very edge.
- For a bit of contrast, you could use the wrong side of your main fabric.
- If you’re using woven fabric for your drawstring, trim the seam allowance with pinking shears to reduce fraying.

If you have questions about constructing your faux drawstring, you are always welcome to post in our SAL group so we can help you! Be sure to check in each day during the SAL, and look for daily posts to enter our giveaways. We can’t wait to see what you create this week!
