On to Day 2 of our sew-a-long for Mama Bridgette and Mama Victoria (bundle here). If you missed day 1, check it out HERE. Join us for more fun and giveaways in our Facebook group HERE!
Today, we are constructing our cups. There is an entire video linked in the Bridgette tutorial, with LOADS of info and examples of both lined and unlined cups being sewn. You can find the link at the top of page 8 in the Bridgette tutorial – the text says “SEE YOUTUBE VIDEO ON CUP CONSTRUCTION HERE!” in blue capital letters.
Below is a video on easing the front cup into the side cup and adding elastic to the cups.
The question I’ve seen the most about the cups is, “do you need elastic in an unlined cup if you are finishing the edges with fold over elastic (FOE)?” You can if you want, but it’s not necessary. The FOE should add support and help the cup from overstretching; however, if you want MORE support, you most certainly can add plush or picot elastic to the cup. Likewise, adding elastic to a lined cup will also add more support.
Make sure to post in the Facebook group and show us your cups all sewn up!! See you back tomorrow.
