We’ve made it to Day 6 of our Blythe SAL! The finish line is just around the corner 🙂 Today we’re going to attach our skirt tiers. This is another tedious, though not necessarily difficult, step. It’s so, so important to take your time to make sure your gathers and tiers turn out nice and neat. I use a TON of clips to make sure my gathers stay as evenly distributed as possible. It’s also a good idea to baste them before sewing, just in case you aren’t 100% happy with how the tiers look. Basting stitches are so much easier to take out!
Don’t forget:
- seam allowance is 1/2″ and is included on pattern pieces; be sure to take the full 1/2″, especially if you’re using a serger.
- make sure your gathers are distributed evenly
