Our new Capri Skirt in Mini, Midi, and Maxi lengths is a flattering, woven skirt with several options. Capri is designed specifically for soft apparel woven fabrics. Choose between two views – a simple skirt (view A) or a skirt with a front slit (view B). Both options include all three hemline lengths. The waistband is fitted with a clean finish – meaning seams are enclosed! All options are finished with a side zipper. Dress your Capri up, or create a more casual look with sneakers, denim, and your favorite graphic tee.
NOTE: Need some help with zippers? Dana has lots of tips for you over here!
Side Seam Slit Hack
Love the option for a slit, but find that you’re not wild about the front slit? No worries – you can easily add a slit to the side seam! Mark where you’d like your slit to start. Then, finish the raw edges of your skirt side seams; be sure not to sew them together yet. Next, stitch the side seam together with the right sides of the fabric together, stopping where your slit will begin.
Press your seam allowance open. Topstitch around the slit.
Faux Button Up Hack
For this skirt, Megan opted for subtle buttons by using a button kit. She covered her buttons with the same fabric that she used for the skirt, but you could use any type of button you’d like! Simply use your favorite spacing tool, mark where you would like your buttons, then attach either by hand or using a buttonhole attachment. Megan attached her buttons straight up from the slit on this skirt, stopping where the slit begins of course.
