Hey Mermaids! Colorblocking and upcycling are two of my favorite things, and with 5 kids who all have opinions and styles of their own, upcycling comes in rather handy to really let each kids personality shine. So today I’m here with a fun upcycle for the new Dylan Tee. If you haven’t gotten it yet, make sure you do! It’s one that will be getting a lot of use over here this summer!
To start, I had these two shirts. The Red Race Car one is one of Gavin’s hand-me down shirts, and the tank was one that my mother gave me that turned out much bigger than she originally thought. I couldn’t have lucked out any better with pairings!
Upcycling is pretty straight forward. I just traced my pieces onto the shirts and cut them out. The front and back from the Red Racer shirt, and the sides and sleeves from the stripes.
If you haven’t tried your hand at upcycling you should. There are tons of awesome second hand items out there just waiting for a second life and it’s a great way to make yourself a completely unique item.
Also make sure to check out the Dylan Tee! There are some great hacks being shared and it’s sure to make itself a staple in your wardrobe!
Which is enough to make anyone jump for joy!
