Today is Day 2 of our Fae sew-a-long! It’s a super easy day – we’re just stitching up our shoulder seams.
Remember that if you mash sizes for the front pieces of Fae, you will need to do the same for the back piece! If you are having to stretch your shoulder seams at all to get them to match up, it’s usually a good indicator that you’ve cut one of your pieces with the stretch in the wrong direction, or you’ve accidentally forgotten to grade either the front/back.
Looking to skip sleeve pieces? Check out the Fae hacks here.
Once you’ve attached your shoulder seams, that’s it for today! See? That took almost no time at all! If you’re feeling ambitious, you could take some time today to cut out an extra Fae. Looking to get started on Christmas sewing? The Fae would be a great option for a teacher gift (or, a gift for teacher AND yourself, if you’re still in the midst of virtual learning!!).
Don’t forget:
- Make sure you are taking an accurate and consistent seam allowance; seam allowance is included on all pattern pieces.
- Be sure that your front bodice pieces are cut as mirror images; check your pieces before sewing.
