We’re already halfway through of our Fae sew-a-long! Today we’re sewing up our sleeves. Remember that you can choose from lantern, color-blocked lantern, or fitted sleeves. We also have hack on the blog for extra long cuffs, if that’s your preference.
The dolman sleeve, paired with the intentional billowy fit of the lantern sleeves, does make it tempting to skip a stretch stitch or try a woven fabric; however, it’s important to remember to use knits as well as a stretch stitch.
Don’t forget:
- Make sure you are taking an accurate and consistent seam allowance; seam allowance is included on all pattern pieces.
- Be sure that your sleeve pieces are cut on the fold; check your pieces before sewing.
- Notches should be cut AWAY from the fabric, not cut into the fabric.
