This is such an easy project that gives a big impact. You can customize by using as many or little flowers as you want, incorporating different flowers or use the same and use small or big flowers for different looks! I know she’s mine, but I just love how sweet my daughter looks in her Christmas Sophie dress and the crown!
Supplies:
Fake flowers- I choose to mix 3 different flowers, two small and one medium size. If you’re shopping at Hobby Lobby I would suggest getting them on a week they are 50% off. I spent a little over $20 on this project because nothing was on sale…boo!
Hot glue gun and glue
Ribbon- about 1 yard- I used ribbon from the floral section. I loved the texture and how thin it was.
Wire cutters or old scissors you don’t care about.
Optional: floral wire, floral tape, suede trim, gold braided trim, elastic or a headband.
Okay let’s get started! I chose to use the tiny white floral stem as a base for my crown. You could also braid some suede trim, use gold braided trim or use a headband. You will want to trim off many of the branches with wire cutters or old scissors. I left two small ones as the base. Wrap around your daughters head to see how much you need. I used ribbon to tie the ends, so you don’t need it to go ALL around their head.
Next remove some of the flowers. You will be able to pull them off or you may need to cut them off.
Choose some flowers to add to your crown. Remove or cut them off the other stems.
Stick on some of the new flowers on the the old flower base.
Then place some hot glue on the flowers and glue them on the floral stem base. Use as many or as few as you want. I wanted a really bold, full look so used a lot! Just play around them until your happy. I also added a few leaves to break up the red a bit.
Now we need to attach the ribbon to the end. I cut 2 pieces about 18″ long because I wanted a long bow! You could do this really nicely but using some floral wire to attach the ribbon and then wrap with floral tape. I couldn’t find mine…. so I just tied the ribbon to each side! Don’t forget to heat seal your ribbon ends if you want it to last and not ravel.
Tie around your daughter’s head and see how sweet she looks!! I just love these right now and have 3 more simple ones almost done! They are easy and oh so sweet for photo shoots! Please share in my facebook group if you make one, I would LOVE to see!
