Me Made May is always such a fun month in the sewing community; the challenge for the month can be as simple or as extravagant as you make it. The basic idea, though, is that each day during the month of May, you aim to wear one piece of clothing that *you* made. New to sewing or the sewing community and want to know more about the history of Me Made May? Check out the creator’s post here. We hope you have fun this month sewing new items, breathing new life in to old items, and getting inspiration from others that sew.
We asked our blog team over at Made for Mermaids to share some of their favorite makes with you all month long, and today’s post is a round up of the first week of Me Made May posts from the team, PLUS some of our team favorites from the Facebook group! We LOVE seeing what you make each day, and are so thankful that you choose to share your creations with us on social media!
NOTE: As some of these are older patterns, they may not be available in our full current adult size range, and/or may not be available in A0 or projector files. Be sure to check the size chart and information posted with each listing!
Week 1 Round Up:
Fiona
Anna’s Fiona top is so pretty in this color! I love the solid color combined with the rib knit texture.
Nicky
How cozy is Katie’s Nicky hoodie? Is it still cool enough for hoodies where you are, or are you already sweat city?? Nicky is part of our Lounge and Lace Collection, but don’t let the Lounge part keep you from wearing it out in public. π
Deanna
OBSESSED with Liesel’s Deanna, and I’m going to need her to just hand it over to me!! Have you made Deanna before? I haven’t tried the short sleeve option, but now it’s a must for me!
Quinn
Rachel’s looks are always so, so good! How perfect is this Quinn dress for summer? Quinn is great for those apparel wovens that we just can’t resist buying, but then never end up sewing. This month, take the plunge!!
Arizona
Love, love, love this basic gray Arizona tank that Lizzy. made! If you’re thinking to yourself, “but Colleen, don’t you already have enough gray in your closet??”, the answer is never! The pop of color Lizzy added to the placket is just perfect.
Tai
Beech’s solid black Tai bodysuit is sooo perfect. Now, she just needs to do a “Single Ladies” photoshoot. I will volunteer as her back up dancer since I still have mine π We’ll be waiting, Bekah!! If bodysuits aren’t your jam, you can use the Tai to make a staple top instead!
Mya
Dana always looks so lovely, and I just love this floral Mya she made! Mya is a closet staple for sure – so many options in one pattern.
