Thanks for checking out our second Me Made May Feature Friday! I’ve made it a point to dig out some of my older favorites instead of just my more recent makes. Are you making new things to wear, or are you opting for more oldies but goodies like me?
We wanted to highlight a couple patterns for Feature Friday, but more importantly, feature a couple of YOU gorgeous ladies! Check out some Me Made May outfits below from a few of the ladies in our Made for Mermaids and Patterns for Pirates pattern groups.
Nicole – Mama Nina
Mama Nina is such a perfect summer staple, but it’s also great for transitioning between seasons! I LOVE Nicole’s cactus print (and her cute sandals!). Mama Nina is a quick knit raglan-style swing pattern. It is fitted at the chest, and swings out loose through the waist and hips. It is perfect for all seasons with 3 sleeve options- short, 3/4 or long. Choose from 3 different lengths- top, curved tunic and dress. The dress has a high low effect, and all lengths can be styled several different ways. Optional chest pocket can be added to any option (my favorite is adding a sequin pocket! So fun!). I know LOTS of people ask if Mama Nina runs big. The short answer is no. The longer answer is, it runs true to measurements based on the intended fit. 🙂 The intended fit is fitted only at the bust, with a very loose and swingy body. You may prefer a different fit, in which case sizing down may be appropriate for your taste and personal preference. Don’t forget – Nina comes in girls’ sizes too!
Jessie – Mama Joy
Jessie’s bump is so sweet in this solid Mama Joy! Mama Joy and Joy are part of the Dreamy Collection. Mama Joy has a high or scoop neckline; short, 3/4, or long sleeves; FIVE different skirt options (high-low peplum, mini, dress, high-low maxi, and maxi); optional pockets, and two back options! Don’t be intimidated by the pleats – Megan gives great instructions and includes a video with more detail! While Mama Joy is drafted for stable knits (Ponte, Liverpool, etc), some of my favorites are made out of double brushed polyester and rayon spandex! Just be aware that this may affect fit – you may find you prefer to size down a bit in either of those fabrics, and with rayon spandex you may prefer a gathered skirt rather than a pleated skirt since it won’t hold pleats well 🙂
Casandra – Sweet Tee and Mama Chloe
Casandra picked such a perfect floral for these Mother’s Day outfits! She is wearing a Sweet Tee from Patterns for Pirates. The Sweet Tee is fitted at the bust and semi-fitted at waist and hips with tons of options! The dolman sleeves are great for beginners and make a very quick, easy sew! Sleeve options include short, 3/4, and long. It also features multiple hem line, including: shirt hemmed, shirt banded with short or tall band, curved hem and a dress length too! The corresponding girls’ pattern is the Sugar Pie.
Her mama is wearing our {free!} Mama Chloe pattern. Mama Chloe is a quick and easy sew with different length options.
If you wanted to complete their looks using patterns, you could use the Grandpa Cardi or Mama Darcey and {free!} Peg Legs for Casandra’s look, and the Everyday Elegance or Brunch Blouse for a pretty woven top to get her mama’s look.
Kayla – Boundless/Peg Hack
Kayla’s maxi skirt is so fun! She used the skirt part of Patterns for Pirates Boundless dress (with a bit of width added) and the Peg Legs waistband to create this look. For the dress version of the Boundless, options include: empire or waist bodice; sleeveless/tank, short sleeve, 3/4 sleeve, or long sleeve; mini, knee, tea, or maxi length; pockets; and high or scoop neckline. The bodice is also lined, so if you are stressed about neckbands, this is a perfect option for you!
Need an easy tank pattern of go with your new Boundless maxi skirt? You can use the Essential Tank or the Mama Kourtney tank for a quick and easy top!

Hailey
I hope my kids don’t see Hailey’s Yo Ho Henley because they will need this exact one immediately! This henley pattern is a semi-fitted t-shirt, perfect for both girls and boys year around! Options include: short, 3/4 rolled up, long hemmed or banded sleeves; shirt or tunic length; hemmed or banded bottom; curved hem option; traditional t-shirt neckband or open henley placket; and optional hood and thumb-hole cuffs! The semi fitted design makes this pattern great for almost every type of knit!
