If you missed any of the posts, make sure to check them out here- day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4 and day 5. REMINDER today is the last day to take advantage of the M4M store wide sale!! We only have a few of these a year, so don’t miss out. More info here.
What’s Valentine’s Day without something to wear behind closed doors? The ladies have been sharing some gorgeous date inspired outfits but here’s how to take some of the basics and turn them in to pieces that will surely make your other half swoon.
Last summer Patterns for Pirates released the Siren Swim Top. We’ve seen some pretty amazing swim tops and even sports bras, but why not kick it up a notch? I used stretch lace for the back bodice and bottom band and used some bra straps to create a bralette style top.
I went for a more vintage inspired look and wanted a high waist bottom. The Mama Lucy Shorts made for the perfect base and I love how the curved hem hugs the legs ;). The Mama Lucy Shorts are drafted for knit and woven. I used a rayon spandex knit so decided to size down one from my measured size for a more slim fitting short. I cut 2″ off the rise and added a waistband. I used the waistband measurements from Patterns for Pirates Sweetheart circle skirt hack but wanted it a little taller so did 7″ instead for the height. To top it off, I added some flirty details to Patterns for Pirates Summer Kimono. Using the same method in the ruched funnel of the Raglan Add-On pack, I ruched the the shoulder seams and added some extra long ties. I also cut my sleeves about half the length as in the pattern so they weren’t as long.
There you have it! Now go create some gorgeous clothes and admire the beauty within.
How beautiful and classic does Nicole look?? I hope she’s inspired you to feel gorgeous and make something sassy for yourself 😉 We’ll be back again soon with another Sew, What Do I Wear? tour!
I love this whole look and it seems super comfortable. I don’t think I ever would have thought to do sleepwear from M4M and P4P. Eay to go Nicole!!
Thank you Teronia!!
