Day 4 isn’t too bad – we’re just going to be adding our elastic. If you are doing the regular waist with wider elastic, it’s definitely an easy day! You’ll just have one row of elastic to thread. If you’re doing multiple rows, it’s still not terrible 😉 I like to thread one row at a time, stitching the elastic together and closing up the opening each time before beginning on the next row. Of course, you’ll need to start with the top row first in order for this to work.
I like to put clips on the opposite end of my elastic to help make sure I don’t yank it through on the other side by accident.
Don’t forget:
- For the best elastic measurement, wrap the elastic around the waist of the intended wearer 🙂 This will help give you the most comfortable fit.
- You can heat set your elastic edges if you want; some elastic will fray more than others!
- Use a zig zag/stretch stitch to attach the short ends of your elastic
