The newest pattern in our Barbelle Collection is here! I have seen this style all over when shopping and was so excited when Cassie decided to design our very own! Annika is a sporty jacket perfect for hitting the gym or running errands. It has a full zip-up front with a built-in collar that is finished with a facing. It includes two different body styles, plain or corset. The plain style has optional side pockets, yay! The corset style has shaped panels on both the front and back with a beautiful curved hemline. Choose from 3 long sleeve options- a simple hemmed sleeve or extra-long cuffs (plain or thumbhole). This pattern takes little yardage, and if you’re not new to zippers, it will take you no time to sew up!

Choosing Your Options
We have lots of tester photos in our FB group and on the site if you want to see a variety of photos of each option before you decide! Here is a quick snapshot of the different options:
Plain Body-
Plain with optional side pockets-
Corset Body-
I LOVE how Tracey added flat binding to her corset panel seams. That pop of color at the collar facing and in the seaming is so fun!
Thumbhole Cuffs
Plain Cuffs
Hemmed Sleeves
Fabric + Notions
Annika is drafted for medium weight knits with at least 50% stretch horizontally and 50% vertical stretch. Something with good recovery, structure, and that are sturdy for easy zipper installation. We love athletic ribbed knits, athletic knits, athletic double brushed poly, ponte, scuba, etc.
You may also need:
- A 24″-32″ separating jacket zipper (see chart below for more specific length for your size)
- Lightweight knit interfacing to stabilze the zipper and optional the collar.
- Optional is 1/2″ double-sided lightweight knit interfacing to help topstitch the collar facing down.
- Optional to cover the zipper seam is single-fold bias, satin ribbon, or binding.
Annika goes perfect with our entire Barbelle Collection! Check out Cassie’s plain jacket with side pockets paried with Tessa Twist & Eden leggings, so cute!
We hope you love the Annika jacket and can’t wait to see your sewn up!
