Our M4M Team has grown!

I’m SO excited to announce a new member of the M4M team, Angela!

Angela has been testing for M4M for many years and I’m sure you recognize her and her daughter from our Facebook group!

She has been helping behind the scenes since the beginning of the year and she’s been a wonderful fit for our team! Megan T. and Catherine both design patterns under Made for Mermaids, along with running their own tester groups, admining the FB group (we have help from lots of amazing admins too- mwah!), FB page, blog posts ect. So much work goes on behind the scenes that when Melissa decided to step down from her position at the end of last year, I quickly started falling behind. Angela has stepped in and helped TREMENDOUSLY! If you email thru the site contact form, Angela has been answering your questions. She has helped make all our release photo collages this year, add photos to our FB page at releases, answering lots of posts in our FB group and she just started managing our M4M blog too. So get ready for lots of new blog posts coming and maybe a sew-a-long soon 😉 We couldn’t be more thrilled to finally announce her addition to our team. Here is a little more about her below….

Hi Made for Mermaids fans! I am so excited to be joining the Made for Mermaids team. I remember when I first saw Megan’s designs how thrilled I was to see such fun everyday princess styles and knew immediately that I really wanted to test for her. I was ecstatic when I saw a call for tester and was one of the lucky ladies to get to test and of course my daughter was thrilled to be getting princess dresses! Still now all these years later, I get excited when I see what the Made for Mermaids team is working on and am so thankful that Megan asked me to be part of the team! Here is a little bit more about me.

I live in Vernon, BC in Canada with my husband Brandon and my daughter Nevaeh along with our 2 cats and our dog. I’ve lived in this area of BC since I was 16 but grew up on the West Coast just outside of Vancouver, BC. I have been crafting since a early age and my mom has always encouraged me and even put me in private sewing lessons with 3 other friends when I was in elementary school. I remember sewing up hair scruchies and dragging my brother door to door in the neighborhood to sell them with me! In high school I started sewing a lot of my own clothes as I was petite and had a hard time finding modern styles that fit me. We moved out of the city when I was 16 and in my grade 12 year and I was mortified to find out that the small town we moved too didn’t offer sewing class in high school and being a teenager I gave up on sewing for a awhile.

After high school I ended up taking a collage program to be a insurance broker and started working full time as a insurance broker as soon as I was done my collage program. I got married a few years later in 2002 and started to knit as that was something I could do while still spending time with my new husband. I still sewed but mainly just hemming pants, sewing curtains and things for our house. We had our first and only daughter in 2009 and when she was a year old I thought Why am I not sewing for my daughter? Of course my daughter is also really petite and I started sewing for her and then for myself again and really regained the passion for sewing that I had lost.

Besides sewing I enjoy spending time with my family. We are just a bit Disney obsessed and have frequent Disney movie nights. We’re very fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of British Columbia and have several lakes around us and we love to camp in the summer and spend time in the lake swimming and kayaking. My husband would also tell you that I’m just a bit of a fabric hoarder and both me and my daughter are just a bit obsessed with shoes and lipstick! I look forward to getting to know all the Made for Mermaids fans in our Facebook group!
