Me Made May is always such a fun month in the sewing community; the challenge for the month can be as simple or as extravagant as you make it. The basic idea, though, is that each day during the month of May, you aim to wear one piece of clothing that *you* made. New to sewing or the sewing community and want to know more about the history of Me Made May? Check out the creator’s post here. We hope you have fun this month sewing new items, breathing new life in to old items, and getting inspiration from others that sew.
We asked our blog team over at Made for Mermaids to share some of their favorite makes with you all month long, and today’s post is a round up of the remaining days of Me Made May posts from the team, PLUS some of our team favorites from the Facebook group! We LOVE seeing what you make each day, and are so thankful that you choose to share your creations with us on social media!
NOTE: As some of these are older patterns, they may not be available in our full current adult size range, and/or may not be available in A0 or projector files. Be sure to check the size chart and information posted with each listing!
Week 4 Round Up:
Aria
Jennifer is a DREAM in this Aria maxi dress. The racer back is such a pretty detail. Are you a fan of maxis, or not so much?
Lee
Lindsay, this Lee Raglan, the cute hat?? Just perfection! LOVE the stripes with the camo; are you a confident pattern mixer?
Lea
Dana needs to share this Lea romper ASAP because it is C-U-T-E!! Can we also admire her necklace for a minute??
Florence
Aaronica is serving us LOOKS in the brand new Florence pattern! Florence is a new addition to the Resort Collection.
Colleen
I’m wearing my most worn Colleen cardigan! It’s the perfect thing to keep in the car, my office, bring with me inside ALDI while shopping the aisle of shame – or really anywhere that cranks the AC all summer long!
Florence + Amalfi
Stephanie slaaaaaaays in this hacked Florence top paired with the Amalfi swim bottoms. I know she’s our romper queen, but dang, Stephanie!
Thea
If you haven’t tried the Thea top yet, it’s a must! The front pleats, the flutter sleeves, and the peekaboo back are such fun details! Don’t mind the twisted waistband in my pictures here; it finishes wider than that!
Shelly
Catherine’s Shelly might be my favorite suit ever! Loe this suit and this fabric! If you haven’t sewn with swim before, Shelly can be a great confidence booster. We have a sew-a-long in our SAL FB group, too.
Ruthie
Dana is the cutest in our newest pattern, Ruthie! This style is perfect for all of those dainty floral prints.
Sage
The Sage dress rounded out our month of Me Made May with Made for Mermaids! It’s a great scrap buster pattern for those fabrics that you love, but don’t have much to work with. You can also use a more sheer fabric for the bottom block; the animal print I used here is a very light sweater knit that is too sheer to wear on its own. Thanks for joining us all month long! We hope you gained some inspiration and took some time to sew yourself something this month.
Me Made May in the M4M Community:
I know we say this is just about every blog post, but we truly LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing what you’ve made for you, or the people you love and sew for. It’s so fun to see your visions paired up with our Made for Mermaids patterns. Take a peak at some of our favorites from the last part of May:
PSST! Don’t forget to join us this month for our Poppy sew-a-long. We can’t wait to see what you create!
