One of the many things that my kids have picked up from their Mama, is a love for Holidays! We all love dressing up and I am sucker for cute, themed fabrics. Valentine’s Day is one of my favorites to sew for because it is full of hearts, love, and vibrant pinks and reds. After being at home for school all of last year, these kiddos are excited to be back in the classroom and getting to celebrate Valentine’s Day with all of their friends. New outfits were definitely necessary for the celebration!
The Lounge part of the Lounge and Lace Collection is where you can find most of kids favorite patterns. There is such a wide variety of patterns to choose from to fit each of my kids’ very different personalities. French Terry was the fabric of choice this year, and I let each of the kids pick their own patterns from the collection.
My sweet boy picked out the Rory Raglan for his cozy Valentine’s Day shirt. I used an Oatmeal French Terry from Knitpop and I added the Valentine version of his current obsession (construction vehicles) using sublimation. He loves it and so do I!
Next up, we have the Colleen Cardigan chosen by my middle kiddo. She loves for her outfits to make a statement, and I think she picked the perfect piece to do just that! This was my first time making the Colleen Cardigan, and I have to say that I just love how it comes together. Of course, we added pockets, because where else is she going to stash all of her Valentine candy from her school party??
My oldest went with her usual go-to pattern, the Stella Sweater Top. We went with the solid front and back so she would be able to wear it to school, and paired with jeans, it is tween approved and ready for her Valentine’s Day Party. She also talked me into making her some matching Lexi and Lou Joggers to wear once she got home.
Of course, Mama had to get in on the fun while they still like to match with me. I am wearing Stella, and our Leopard Heart French Terry is from So Sew English.
I hope we have given you some ideas for your Valentine’s Day sewing for the whole family. Have fun and happy sewing!
