Today is Day 3 of our Isabel SAL! Regardless of which option you are sewing up, today’s steps will be the same! If you haven’t already, you can grab the girls’ or the women’s pattern, and check out the existing hacks from the original release. If you’re playing catch up, no worries – the schedule for the week including links for Day 1 and Day 2 is posted below!
For day 3, we are sewing up our side seams. You will sew both with 1/2″ seam allowance. A few things to remember:
- make sure you’ve transferred the markings from your front bodice pattern piece to your fabric
- 1/2″ seam allowance on both sides
- do not stitch between the two markings; this is the opening for your waist ties (you will only have one marking for Mama Isabel; see pg 11 of your tutorial)
- if you are doing the faux wrap, you may do this step little bit differently; I constructed per the tutorial for my daughter, but you. may wish to omit the waist ties and instead sew both bodice side seams completely shut
ALL SET?
Once you’ve got your side seams sewn up, you are ready for Day 4! If you have questions about today’s steps, you are welcome to post in the main group or our SAL group so we can help you! Be sure to check in each day during the SAL, and look for daily posts to enter our giveaways. We can’t wait to see what you create this week!
