Baby Betsy Features:

• •Made for knit fabrics.
• •The front and back are cut on the fold for a quick sew.
• •The elastic waist can be a basic bloomer or paper bag style.
• •Optional faux drawstring.
• •Optional bum ruffles.
• •Optional leg ruffles.
• •Finish the leg line with elastic or bands.

Suggested Fabrics:

• •For Knit Bloomers- Choose any knit fabric:
  • •Cotton lycra, double brushed polyester, bamboo lycra, rayon blends, poly spandex, rib knit, ITY, waffle, etc.
  • •Thicker fabrics with less stretch will feel more fitted.
  • •Lighter fabrics, such as rayon spandex will ‘grow’ with wear and feel looser/more blousey.
  • •If you are making paper bag bloomers I recommend a fabric with more structure or adding interfacing if using a lighter-weight knit.
• •For Swim Bloomers- Swim Knit and optional Swim Lining:
  • •Nylon Spandex (traditional swim knit) or Polyester Spandex Blends.
  • Designed to be worn over a swim diaper.
  • Note- you may wish to size down for Swim.
• •For leg band option- Medium weight knit with at least 50% stretch.
  • •Cotton lycra or double brushed poly.
  • •Using a fabric with less spandex content and/or poor recovery will result in a looser/stretched-out leg band.

Notions:

• •Knit bloomers: 1/2″ knit elastic.
• •Swim bloomers: 1/2″ swim elastic.
• •Elastic leg option: 1/4″ or 3/4″ knit or swim elastic
• •Optional drawing: cording, ribbon, twill tape.
• •Paper bag option: knit interfacing.
• •Optional: knit twin needle.
• •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, and marking tool. Ballpoint, stretch, or jersey needle.
