Tinsley is an athletic knit pattern full of fun options. All options feature a scoop front bodice with seaming. For the back, choose between a full back, high scoop, or low scoop. The neckline is finished with thin or thick binding. There are more than five hemlines included! Not feeling a dress? You can opt for the separate sports bra (lined and finished with a band/elastic), separate longline (can be unlined or finished with a shelf bra), plus separate shorties or skort. The comfortable shorties feature no front seam, a gusset, side panels, optional pockets, a contour waistband, and 3″ or 4″ inseam. You can also make a skort, using the skirt and shorties. The skirt is an a-line skirt with front seaming, optional slits (in a low or high height), and it comes in micro mini or mini lengths. The tennis dress is my favorite, with three options – finish the bodice with a shelf bra, full lining, or leave it unlined. You can add attached shorties to the dress or leave them off!  Tinsley is perfect for wearing casually every day, to the gym, playing tennis or pickleball, a hot girl walk, or creating an athletic capsule!

Skill level:

• Confident beginner to intermediate- the binding will be the most difficult step for a true beginner.

Suggested Fabrics:

• •Fabric content will affect the drape and fit.
• •Drafted for medium weight knits with 4-way stretch, great recovery, and a minimum 50% horizontal stretch, and 50% vertical stretch.
  • •Look for high spandex content, 5% minimum, but I prefer 12%-25%. Note- the higher spandex content and heavier weight knits (250gsm+) will feel tighter and give more compression.
  • •Examples for more causal wear: cotton lycra, double brushed poly, thicker ribbed knit, etc.
  • •Examples for athletic wear: ribbed athletic knits, athletic brushed poly, nylon spadex, poly spandex, supplex, yoga knit, nylon spandex tricot, poly spandex tricot, ribbed tricot, athletic foiled knit, etc.

Notions:

• •Optional enclosed elastic band for shelf bra: 1″ knit elastic.
• •Optional- 1/2″ interfacing or knit hem tape for hemming.
• •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, safety pin or bodkin, and marking tool. Ball point, stretch, or jersey needle.
