Ruthie is a knit pattern with SO many options. Choose from a keyhole style or center ruched style front. Includes both a small or large keyhole option. The ruched has a medium or low scoop neckline. All back necklines are scooped. You can make a fitted lined crop or top length, perfect for pairing with shorts or skirts. Or choose from a half or full circle skirt dress. All skirts have a curved hemline in the front and back. The half circle includes an above the knee or midi length. The full circle includes an above the knee or knee length skirt. Add optional inseam pockets to any skirt. Ruthie is so cute dressed up for special nights or casually worn every day. It’s designed to mash perfectly with Eloise and Heidi for more options!

• •Fits full hip sizes: 34″-64″ or 86.3 – 162.5 cm.

Skill level:

• •Confident beginner- stitching the ruched bodice casings and keyhole casing will be the most difficult step for a fresh beginner.

Suggested Fabrics:

• •Drafted for light to medium weight knits with at least 50% horizontal and vertical stretch, good recovery, and nice drape.
  • ITY, double brushed polyester, cotton spandex, modal, bamboo lycra, high quality ribbed knit, etc.
  • Lighter weight knits without recovery, such as rayon spandex, tend to ‘grow with wear’ and will fit looser than intended.
  • If using a thicker knit for the main bodice, I would suggest choosing something lighter weight for the lining, especially for the top length.

Notions:

• •Optional- 1/2″ knit hem tape for hemming.
• •Optional – Fabric fuse/stitch witchery.
• •Basics: thread, pins or clips, scissors, ruler, hem gauge, and marking tool. Ball point, stretch, or jersey needle. Knit twin needle optional.
