It’s the 4th day of Christmas, and today’s freebie is an absolute must-have! We’re gifting you the pattern for an adjustable and reversible bib apron—a versatile and practical project that everyone will love. This pattern comes in seven sizes, ranging from youth small to large and adult XS to plus, and the sizing couldn’t be easier! Thanks to its adjustable ties and loops, you can easily customize the fit. If you’re not sure on sizing, I would just make it larger! It’s no problem if it’s a little big—it will simply wrap more around the back! Whether you’re sewing for a woodworker, artist, baker, griller, or anyone who could use a stylish and functional apron, this pattern has you covered. It’s perfect for little ones or adults on your gift list, and you can make it in their favorite fabric or theme for a thoughtful and personal touch. Don’t miss out!
Pairs perfectly with several of our older freebies like our chef’s hat, oven mitt, pot holders, or all our play food if you’re making for a little one- baking set, breakfast set, and cocoa and cookies!

Step 2: CUTTING
- Cut 1 main apron
- Cut 1 lining apron
- Cut 2 ties
- All youth sizes- 2.5″ x 36″
- All adult sizes- 2.5″ x 44″
- Cut 2 loops
- All sizes 1.25″ x 3.5″
Step 3: SEWING
Press 1/4″ towards the wrong side on one short end of the tie piece.
Then press in half, wrong sides together. Stitch with a 1/4″ seam allowance. (Note- I accidentally pressed both my short ends 1/4″ to the wrong side, ignore that 😉 )
Press right side out. Stitch short, pressed end closed. Repeat with the other tie piece. Set aside.
Press loop pieces as if you’re making bias. Press in half, with the wrong sides together, to create a center crease. Press long ends toward the center. Then press in half again and edge stitch.
Fold the loop piece in half and pin 1/2″ from the back edge. Repeat with the other loop piece. Then pin the ties 1/2″ from the bib edges, with the right sides together. Baste ties and loops in place.
Place the lining on the main with the right sides together, with ties/loops between them. Sew around all edges with a 1/2″ seam allowance, leaving a 3″-4″ opening to turn.
Press the unsewn opening 1/2″ toward the wrong side. Clip curves/seams/corners and then press right sides out.
Top stitch around all edges.
To wear, cross straps over into the loop, then tie at the center back.
