My most used pattern! I love it! My daughter is so skinny and tall, RTW leggings haven’t fit her in years. She chooses to wear the leggings most days because they actually fit perfect!

The Bonny leggings pattern is the only pattern I now use for my girls! They wear leggings just about every day under their dresses – the full length is perfect for fall/winter, and the shorties length is perfect for the warmer summer months! Seriously a staple piece for any little girls’ wardrobe. Get the pattern. You will not be disappointed and will want to sew up a million pairs – and you certainly can in no time! Beginner friendly pattern as well.

We love this pattern. My child will only wear “stretchy pants” as she calls it now. So having a pattern that fits right is important. We love it so much !!
emhank –
This is my go to pattern for sewing leggings for my granddaughters, I’ve sewn dozens of these.
Ashley –
One of the easiest patterns to follow from print to completion! Not only is it quick, cute, and easy, but there are lots of ways to modify this pattern with shortie, Capri, and ruffle options!
Kerry Cooper –
This was a freebie, but I would happily have paid. Simple and easy pattern that I’d recommend for beginners. Once you’ve made a couple of pairs, you’ll be confident enough to alter them to suit your child. Add little bows to the hems, or colour block, or a ruffle hem, or add lace to the bottom hem for a ‘witches britches’ look. Try the hacks listed on the site.
The instructions are easy to follow, and there is heaps of helpful advice online. Check out the Facebook pages listed on this site. Check out the Instagram sites. Ask the pattern maker!
Don’t forget the pattern is in inches! Yes, it says this a few times on the website and also in the instructions. But… Had a friend make a pair up and couldn’t figure out why they were so big on her daughter! D’Oh! Easy fix. Most tape measures have cms on one side and inches on the other. Use a conversion app. Ask your gran. Just don’t forget- inches!
Make sure you measure your child! And measure them again in a few months when you make a new pair. I cannot stress this enough, no matter where the pattern is from. My child is a size 8-10 from shops here in Australia. I cut her a 5-6 from this pattern and it’s perfect. Don’t assume, measure! If you plan to do a lot of sewing, get into the habit. You won’t regret it.
The pattern works perfectly for projector cutting. I use the A0 by default, but the projector specific file… perfection ☺️
I cannot recommend this pattern highly enough, and I suggest supporting the creator by buying a few patterns to go with your new leggings… they’re all easy peasy lemon squeezy

I LOVE this pattern SO much for my two daughters. I was going crazy with separate skirts and shorts to go under, and nothing was ever long enough. I’ve used the circle skirt concept and the construction of pant/shorts as I’ve made other things beyond this. Thank you M4M!
