Print and assemble the pattern. Alternatively, you can use the projector file if you’re using a projector. Pattern layout below:
Step 2: CUTTING
- All in inches.
- Cut 9 total tails (3 in each color)
- Cut 9 total bottom bows (3 in each color) 9.5 x 20
- Cut 9 total top tails (3 in each color) 7.5 x 15
- Cut 9 total center (3 in each color) 4.5 x 6
Step 3: SEWING
Do a rolled hem on all sides of the tail pieces. Set aside.
Fold the bottom bow, top bow, and center bow in half-long ways. Stitch together.
Flip right sides out. I like to press the seam to the back. Set the center pieces aside.
Fold the bottom and top bows in half, with the right sides together, and stitch at short ends. Then, flip them right sides out and center the seam.
Step 4: ASSEMBLING
Fold the tail piece in half. Pinch it in the center and place it under the main bow, again wrapping it with thread to hold. You can put a few hand stitches in the center to hold if you want.
Wrap the center piece around the bow to cover the stitches. Stitch or glue the center piece together in the back. Cut a long piece of ribbon or twine and loop it through the back of the center piece. You can stitch or hot glue the center piece directly to twine/ribbon once you’re happy with the placement. You can also stitch or glue the top edges of the bows together to help hide the ribbon/twine.
